Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has reportedly been arrested by law enforcement authorities in connection with her ongoing public dispute with Lagos-based cleric, Pastor Chris Okafor.
The actress was allegedly taken into custody on Saturday while participating in a live online broadcast, a moment that was captured and widely circulated on social media. In the video, Ogala appeared visibly shocked as she informed viewers that police officers had arrived at her residence.
The arrest is believed to be linked to the heated controversy between Ogala and Pastor Okafor, following a series of public allegations she made against the cleric. Ogala had accused the pastor of reneging on an alleged promise of marriage and subsequently filed a ₦1 billion lawsuit against him for breach of promise and defamation.
The matter has since generated intense debate online, with entertainers and social commentators weighing in. Comedian DeeOne was among those who announced the actress’s reported arrest on social media, stating that the case had moved beyond online exchanges and would now be tested legally.
As of the time of filing this report, the Nigeria Police Force has not issued an official statement clarifying the specific charges against Ogala or confirming the circumstances surrounding her arrest. Efforts to reach her legal representatives for comment were unsuccessful.
The case continues to attract public attention, with observers awaiting further developments from both the police and the courts.
